Over 14 years ago, in January 2012, Alfred Samuels, the Director of HERAC was diagnosed with prostate cancer and given 6 months to live.
Cancer research changed what happened next. Funding of research associated with the drug abiraterone helped provide a treatment opportunity that transformed his story.
He subsequently became an Ambassador for Cancer Research UK and was recognised as its Ambassador of the Year.
